The Distribution of ABO Blood Groups among Koreans residing in Chonnam, Korea

Abstract

|
The blood types of ABO system for Koreans residing in Chonnam. Korea were determined by suing commercial standard sera (Hyland Lab., U.S.A.)
10,000 cases were tested with anti-A and anti-B sera by Brem´s slide mithod.
The percentages of each group were as follows: O-29.08%, group A-35.12%, group B-23.42% and group AB-12.38%
The gene frequencies calculated from these figures were as follows: p-0.275, q-0.199, and r-0.539.
The genotype frequencies calculated were as follwos: O/O-0.291, A/A-0.076, A/O-0.297, B/B-0.039, B/O-0.214 and A/B-0.109.
